Mrunal Thakur Demands Three More Films After Sumanth's Public Apology
The Sita Ramam co-stars share a playful moment at Dacoit event over deleted scenes and compensation

The magic of Sita Ramam continues to create headlines even years after its release, this time thanks to an endearing exchange between co-stars Sumanth and Mrunal Thakur at the recent Dacoit pre-release event.
Sumanth took the opportunity to publicly apologize to Mrunal, referencing a deleted scene from their blockbuster romantic drama where his character was responsible for separating the lead pair of Ram (Dulquer Salmaan) and Sita (Mrunal). The scene, which showed Sumanth's character apologizing to Sita, didn't make it to the final cut during editing.
"Mrunal, forgive me for taking your Ram away from you," Sumanth said playfully on stage, recreating the essence of that lost moment. "There was actually a beautiful scene, but circumstances forced us to remove it." The veteran actor then jokingly offered the Dacoit project as compensation for that deleted sequence.
But Mrunal wasn't settling for just one film. With characteristic wit, she responded that a single movie wouldn't suffice and demanded three to four projects instead. Her cheeky counter-demand, delivered with the affectionate "Sumanth anna," has fans buzzing about both the lost Sita Ramam footage and their delightful chemistry.
This playful banter highlights how Sita Ramam's emotional depth continues to resonate. The Hanu Raghavapudi directorial became a Telugu cinema classic, with Mrunal's portrayal of Sita establishing her as a beloved heroine in Tollywood. Her chemistry with Dulquer created one of recent cinema's most cherished love stories.
As for Dacoit, the Shaniel Deo directorial promises to showcase a different side of both Mrunal and Adivi Sesh in an intense action-love story. With Anurag Kashyap in a powerful police officer role and a stellar supporting cast including Prakash Raj and Sunil, the film releasing April 10th could well provide Mrunal another memorable Telugu outing: though she's clearly angling for more.
