Peddi Postponement Opens May Window as BGM Work Continues

The much-anticipated Ram Charan starrer Peddi has officially moved out of its April 30 slot, with industry circles now pointing to a June release. This development has created an unexpected opportunity for multiple Telugu films to capitalize on the May window without facing competition from the mega hero's pan-India venture.

The postponement stems from ongoing post-production work, particularly the background score composition by A.R. Rahman. Sources close to the production reveal that director Buchi Babu Sana is working intensively with the legendary composer to achieve the desired musical impact. With only an item song remaining to be shot, the film's technical completion now hinges entirely on Rahman's BGM work reaching the team's exacting standards.

This careful approach reflects the massive expectations surrounding Peddi, which is being positioned as Ram Charan's next major theatrical experience following RRR's global success. Rather than rushing to meet deadlines, the makers appear committed to delivering a product that matches the film's large-scale ambitions and pan-India appeal.

The postponement has inadvertently benefited several smaller Telugu projects. Gaayapadda Simham, featuring Tharun Bhascker and JD Chakravarthy, maintains its May 1 release date with renewed confidence. Epic, starring Anand and Vaishnavi, is also eyeing the same date, though promotional activity remains subdued.

Mid-May brings two more releases: Satya's comedy entertainer Jetlee on May 8, followed by Samantha's Maa Inti Bangaram on May 15. All four films now have the luxury of operating in a relatively clear release corridor.

While Ram Charan reportedly favored the April 30 date, the team's decision to prioritize quality over speed demonstrates maturity in handling a high-stakes project.
