Prashanth Neel Turns Producer for Mythri's First Horror Film '418'
KGF director collaborates with Mythri Movie Makers on pure horror venture while NTR's Dragon progresses

The Prashanth Neel-Mythri Movie Makers combination is exploring uncharted territory with their latest collaboration. While the creative director continues shooting Dragon with Jr NTR at breakneck speed, he's simultaneously embarking on a completely different venture with the production house: this time stepping away from the director's chair to serve as presenter.
Mythri Movie Makers, the powerhouse behind numerous mass commercial blockbusters, is venturing into pure horror for the first time with a film titled '418'. The unusual title and blood-stained door imagery in the recently released poster have already generated significant buzz across social media platforms.
Director Keertan Nada Gowda is helming this project, which carries the bold tagline "Horror cinemallo navvindi chaalu.. ika bhayapadalsina samayam vacchindi" (Enough of laughing at horror films... it's time to be scared). This positioning directly addresses the current trend where horror films have become more comedic than frightening, promising audiences a return to genuine scares.
The film features Surya Raj, Charan Lakkaraju, and Preeti Pagadala in lead roles: a deliberate choice to bring fresh faces and avoid the baggage of established star personas that might dilute the horror impact. Mythri's Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar are backing the project, currently in rapid production.
Neel's involvement as presenter adds considerable weight to '418'. His signature dark tone and intense filmmaking style, which elevated the KGF franchise to pan-India success, could translate remarkably well to the horror-thriller space. The combination of his visual sensibilities with genuine horror elements promises something significantly different from the horror-comedy hybrids dominating recent releases.
This collaboration represents an interesting evolution for both parties. Mythri continues diversifying beyond their comfort zone of mass entertainers, while Neel explores his influence as a creative force beyond directing. With the horror genre in Telugu cinema often diluted by comedy tracks, '418' could potentially reset audience expectations and deliver the pure, spine-chilling experience that the tagline promises.
The project's success will determine whether this Neel-Mythri partnership extends into more experimental territories while their primary Dragon collaboration continues its theatrical journey.
