Sesh's Journey From Chandamama Reject to Banking on Dacoit Success
The actor opens up about being dropped from Krishna Vamsi's hit film during early career struggles

Adivi Sesh never shies away from acknowledging his journey's rocky beginnings, and his latest revelation adds another layer to his inspiring transformation story. While promoting his upcoming romantic action drama Dacoit, the actor candidly shared how he was unceremoniously dropped from Krishna Vamsi's superhit Chandamama during his early acting days.
Speaking in a recent interview, Sesh revealed he was initially cast in what would become Navdeep's breakout role in the 2007 hit. "I was the initial choice for Navdeep's role in Krishna Vamsi garu's Chandamama. It was initially titled 'Mallepuvvu', but after a few days of shooting, I was fired because my acting wasn't good enough back then," the actor admitted with characteristic honesty.
This rejection, though painful at the time, seems almost prophetic now. Sesh has evolved into one of Telugu cinema's most dependable performers, particularly known for his intelligent script selections and writing prowess. His spy thriller franchise with Goodachari established him as an actor who doesn't just perform but actively shapes his projects.
Now, with Dacoit releasing April 10th, Sesh is banking on another genre shift. The film, starring Mrunal Thakur and featuring Anurag Kashyap, represents a collaborative effort with Supriya Yarlagadda reviving her father's SS Creations banner. At the film's pre-release event, industry veterans like Venkatesh praised both Sesh's growth and the project's promising trailer.
What makes Sesh's career arc fascinating is how those early rejections shaped his approach to filmmaking. Rather than simply accepting roles, he became a writer-actor who crafts his own opportunities. This transformation from a Chandamama reject to someone whose Goodachari 2 generates massive anticipation speaks to both persistence and evolution.
As Dacoit prepares for release, it carries the weight of expectation from an actor who's proven that early setbacks often become the foundation for later triumphs.
