War Forces Allu Arjun-Atlee Project to Abandon Dubai Schedule
Rising Middle East tensions have prompted the makers of AA22 to scrap their planned Gulf shooting schedule.

The ongoing war between the US-Israel alliance and Iran has claimed an unexpected casualty in the entertainment industry: Allu Arjun and director Atlee's ambitious pan-India film AA22 has been forced to cancel its planned Dubai shooting schedule due to escalating tensions in the region.
Director Atlee had originally planned to shoot crucial action sequences in Dubai and Abu Dhabi this April, but the political situation and war-like atmosphere in the Gulf region have made the team feel that the area is not safe for filming right now. The decision comes as the Iran war entered its second month after US-Israeli strikes killed Iran's Supreme Leader on February 28, triggering massive retaliatory attacks across the Middle East.
This isn't an isolated case in the industry. Recently, NTR's film 'Dragon' had to stop its international schedule in Jordan midway due to similar issues, highlighting how global conflicts are increasingly disrupting film production schedules worldwide.
The film has already completed a significant portion of shooting on specially constructed sets in Mumbai, but the Gulf leg was meant to capture the grand scale that Atlee envisioned for this ₹600 crore sci-fi action entertainer. The makers are now exploring alternative international locations and may reschedule the shoot for May if they can secure suitable venues quickly.
For Bunny's massive fanbase, there's still reason for excitement. On April 8, marking Allu Arjun's birthday, only the title poster will be released, with producer Bunny Vas confirming that no video content will be unveiled as they're keeping the visuals under wraps for this special film.
The project represents Atlee's Telugu debut and promises to be a landmark collaboration with an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Mrunal Thakur, Rashmika Mandanna, and Janhvi Kapoor. While the war has disrupted their immediate plans, the scale and ambition of AA22 remain intact: it's simply a matter of finding safer shores to capture those spectacular sequences.
